My name is registered as Sri Munawwarah, but you may address me with either of the two. However I do prefer if you call me Munawwarah because I have three sisters and two nieces who also go by the name “Sri”. If you find Munawwarah too long, it’s okay, you are not alone. Don’t give up, you’ll get used to it.
I’m Bruneian through and through, which means Malay is my first language and English is the second, but due to the nature of our education which mainly use English as a medium, I feel more comfortable writing in English, but you might find Bruneian Malay slipped here and there, and maybe some Turkish and Arabic too if I feel like it as I speak these languages as well because I’m currently based in Istanbul for my study, and I’m pursuing Islamic Theology.
I used to write Malay short-stories that won prizes (like “Kuadratik” which was my biggest success in story-writing), but I’m currently taking a break from writing stories. I do have a few drafts which I hope I can finish and publish in the near future, but until then, I’m just focusing on writing on this blog first. And oh! I sometimes write for other blogs as well. You can check them out here.
Word has a power to change the world, and changing the world starts with changing ourselves first. This blog most of the time expresses my constantly shifting point-of-view on life, because I’d love to share with you the wisdom I got from my experiences, and I hope that whatever you get from here will benefit you and me, in this dunya and in the akhirah.
It’s important for you to take note as well that I’m still a normal human being who errs every now and then, and a social creature who needs to interact with others. Hence, feedback is most welcomed, and if you’d like to reach me, here’s my contact details and let’s talk! I’d love to hear from you 🙂
Sri Munawwarah ❤
